St Peter’s Junior Church welcomes anyone aged 3 – 11 years to come and join us for worship and fun.

We meet on Sundays in St Peter’s Hall in St Peter’s Road at 9.20am, for fun and teaching that encourages children to learn about Jesus through  song, prayer and activity. Children are taught in age-appropriate groups by experienced volunteers. All volunteers are required to have an enhanced disclosure certificate from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).

Junior Church is closely connected with the Sunday service at St Peter’s, sharing its morning’s work with the rest of the congregation when it joins the main service at about 10.30am.  They are also invited to talk about and show what they have been doing.

All Age Service

On the first Sunday of each month, instead of meeting in the hall,  all children are welcomed to participate in the 9:30 All Age Service in church which involves young people of all ages in every aspect of the service (including music and drama). Children are also invited to take part in the readings, prayers and offertory.
If you would like any more information about Junior Church or the All Age Service, please phone the parish office on 01730 260213.

Junior Church also presents performances for the main festivals including Christmas and Easter.

Children’s facilities

Small children and their parents are always joyfully welcomed in church and can sit in the specially dedicated “children’s corner” where they can see what is going on, and where there is a carpet and cushions on the floor and bags of toys to play with.

Unhappy babies or small children can be taken at any time into the Lady Chapel, where there are toys available and a quieter environment. There are also modern baby changing facilities in the ladies’ lavatory behind the servery. Please ask for directions.
