- 2nd May Havant to Portsmouth
- Finishing with Cathedral Evensong 6pm
The Churches of Petersfield Deanery have joined together to organise a pilgrimage on May Bank Holiday weekend.
Following a route loosely based on the Shipwrights Way, we begin at the Church Centre Liphook on 30th April, walking through several parishes in our own Deanery before travelling onwards through the Diocese, finishing with Evensong at Po
tsmouth Cathedral on 2nd May. We hope that as many as possible will join the pilgrimage for all or part of the route. But even if walking is not your calling, you can still participate by supporting the pilgrimage through prayer, or by providing non-walking help at the various stopping points. Each parish has a pilgrimage representative listed on the leaflet available in church.
Further information will be posted to this page as it becomes available, or you can talk to your parish rep in the meantime.
“A pilgrimage is a walk that is long enough and difficult enough to be a good symbol of the whole of our journey through life: tough and tiring as well as joyful and exciting.” (extract from the leaflet)
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.” (Psalm 84:5, NIV)
