It is unusual in that it has no Swell to Great coupler, but instead has a third, coupler manual. The pedal board is straight and concave. Apart from the blower and the stop action, it is tracker action throughout.
The tonal scheme of the instrument is broadly based along Classical lines, with a certain amount of compromise incorporated to take account of the needs of English choral repertoire accompaniment.
In 2013 thanks to a generous bequest from a former choir member, Marion Earll, it was possible to overhaul the instrument completely and to install a new computerized piston system to make the player’s task less onerous.
A book giving full details of the instrument and its history is available at the back of church.
The specification of the instrument is as follows:
|Stopped Diapason||8||Chimney Flute||8|
|Subbass||16||Swell to Pedal|
|Principal||8||Great to Pedal|
